Dial 1 for Happiness :)

Eeeeeeeeeeee πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ This is how I smile whenever I think about the moments I’d enjoyed since my childhood πŸ™‚ I know for sure my first smile must be when I looked at my parents πŸ™‚ Every toys my parents had bought for me had made me happy. At childhood skipping studies and going out with parents  is what made me smile. I can remember the streets with very few vehicles but more people and lots of shops with are always crowded. It makes one to feel happy when there are lot of people whether we know them or not.

At childhood 3:25 PM was my happy hour πŸ˜€ Because that is the exact time my school bell rings to mark the end of last hour. It had bring smile all over my face the moment the outdoor air touched my face when I’d left class πŸ™‚ I can imagine the day when I’d carried my school bag upside down at my back and a stranger corrected me πŸ™‚ And the moment after I reach home, first thing I use to do is changing dress, freshen up and drink Bonus and then hit the streets with friends. The happy hours use to continue until I hear my mom’s sound from balcony, ‘dai… come and study, enough playing for the day’ 😦 πŸ˜€ And the happiness had continued while keeping books in hands and sitting next to my sister and playing with her and talking to her while mom was at kitchen and when mom asks from kitchen ‘why are you calm, study loudly’ I use to read a few lines loudly and then back to playing with sister πŸ˜€

When my mom can no longer handle me at home and admitted me at a tuition, I was very sad at the beginning but later discovered that’s more fun, because there were more kids like me at tuition and when they are my age how can we study without play πŸ˜€ It was always a thrilling moment when I use to discuss with my friends at tuition without letting my tuition teacher notice me talking to my friends that I show gestures to my friends and call them outside πŸ˜€ One by one we slowly show the little finger and ask shall I go meeees (miss)? and haha what can she say except yes go? Those 10, sometimes 15 minutes break out of 3 hours tuition was the first bunk I’d ever done πŸ˜€ And I use to play or chase some dogs for which we are not afraid of and some dogs that had chased my for which I’m afraid of are the moments that I can never forget πŸ˜€

Toilet breaks were always a greater time for boys while studying at tuition and school πŸ˜€ The artistic and athletic talents can bee seen at toilet walls in upper kinder garden onwards πŸ˜€

The PT (Physical Entertainment) period day was always a smile generating day and such a fun filled hour on a school hour. When we start from class to ground when kids at other class looks at us the ‘veeeeee’ face expression with dancing head with twisted tongue had given happiness more than the PT hour itself πŸ˜€

The annual exam holidays spent at relatives house and the time spent with cousins were the best moments πŸ™‚ Getting prepared to go to relatives house even before preparing for exams itself was always fun πŸ˜€ Now when I spend time with my niece and nephew… hahaha there couldn’t be a best moment than when the kids jump on me and pinch my cheeks and do whatever they want to do to me and enjoy and playing with them would be the happiest moments πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Similar to the break taken during tuition now taking time off from work and playing and taking pics at office is always fun and memorable πŸ™‚

After all the busy weekdays playing games and meeting friends in the name of game had always gave happiness to me πŸ™‚ The fun play which turns seriously and takes a U turn and becomes fun game again.. Such a wonderful moments with friends teasing each other and distract from game, riding bicycle like the good old childhood days  and the chatting hours after game at our railway station were the happiest moments which no other place can give πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Going out with dad in scooter just by choosing a random direction for 20 kilometers and drink tender coconut on return was the happiest on all weekends πŸ™‚ Recently, When I was looking at my school group photo which was taken 20 years ago, I thought to see my friends as they look today in the same photo and the result is this πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

The same group now πŸ™‚ Many are not in touch and not in FB too!

Being away from home, now the happy hours are the time I speak with my best friend and with my parents. I always dial 1 for happiness which is speed dial to my home πŸ™‚

A Healthy child makes a home Happy!

As we say in Tamil ‘Panja Boodham’ which areΒ land, water, air, sky, fire that are essential for everyone. When one of this does its job more than expected, we end up with Earthquake, Flood,Β Storm, Volcano & much more natural calamities.

Similarly the other major essential component to ones life is Food. Since a life is born and until the last breath, food plays an important role in everyone’s life.Β And that’s what makes one healthier. When food is taken more than required we end up with obesity, laziness and much more ‘health calamities’.

If we question when does the health calamity starts, we end up where we started eating food as a child. A child is fed by their parents as per it’s likes now a days. As parents it’s their responsibilities to fed child with healthy food than tasty food. I remember the day when my mom prepared bitter-guard and gave it for me during dinner, I said no. And she explained the benefits of bitter-guard the way it needs to be conveyed to a kid. Same approach followed for any vegetable for which I’d said no. And I never said no again!

It’s the parents responsibility to hold a grip on their childrenΒ in their food consumption. Especially with the junk foods. Chocolates, Chat foods, packed food items, Tin products, Cold drinks that attracts children in a large number are the major threat to them. We have never seen a 2nd standard child with more fats and obesity. But now a days it’s increasing year by year.

This is 7 years back! Imagine what would be the increase rate now!

International food products in India are increasing day by day and the govt approves most of them without complete check on the health hazards that could be caused by the products. The advertisements of new products by our favorite actors/actress makes usΒ feel guilty if you don’t buy them all. Be it any soft drinks or a chips, be it pizza or burger. People go behind them thinking that saves your time in preparing food, but forget to notice that the children are watching… younger generation are getting used to it when we consume it on regular basis.

A child would never know how fat it can grow, but you know it well. Teach your kids the importance of health instead of threatening them.

A kid in my neighborhood eats more lays, Cheetos and chocolates than the food prepared at home. Which resulted in decayed tooth in less than age 7. Β Now their parents are worried about their child’s health. Whose fault is this in making the kid resulting in poor health at this young age? The Kid’s or the parents?

One of my colleague use to get chocolates frequently to office. I asked him why are you bringing chocolates to office regularly and are your two sons not eating it? – I was surprised by what he said.

He said his sons doesn’t like chocolates and they don’t even bother to touch it. His face was filled with happiness when he said this. A similar instance when my colleague said he son didn’t drink Coke or any soft drinks until his age 14. I asked her so he started drinking after age 14? – She said he asked me once whether he can drink coke, when he took a sip his face expression changed ‘buvaaaah’ and that’s the last time he ever tasted a soft drinks. She had a big smile when she said that.

This happiness had too many things to say. They are no more worried about their kids health as they have grown up enough to the practice of not eating Chocolates or soft drinks,

There has been a very big debate in foreign countries about the junk foods and soft drinks as they see children of their country and grown up people too have resulted in overweight which is now spreading across UAE, UK and other countries.

Our nation is not highly affected by this yet, it’s increasing day by day because of the junk food advertisements. Parents allow their kids to have food outside (without their presence) without much bothered to notice what kind of foods their children are eating.

Children are having more deficiencies now a days and all kind of diseases are affecting kids because of lack of immunity. The sugar content from all kind of junks including chocolates and soft drinks make them to be a diabetic person at the young age.

All this results in the happiness of the kids home like they have lost something valuable. Yes, of course they lost the more valuable part of life.. Health! You can get your child anything they want… but not their Health.

Feed your children with healthy food and feed yourself the happiness through your health. Always remember A healthy child makes a home happy.
