Singapore – South east Asia’s smallest island. Which is very well known in India as one of the cleanest country. Even though Singapore is smallest island, it is known for it’s development in a short span of time.

Singapore roads are frequently mentioned as an example for it’s cleanliness. It is home for a major Indians, especially Tamilians. There are 15% of Chinese who adds population to Singapore. It is a 6th country to have half of it’s population as tourists.

Year after year the number of tourists visiting Singapore is increasing. When there are so many travelers and tourists flooding in it accommodation, commute and importantly food plays a main role in keeping the tourists visiting the country.

Not only tourists, the fact is that Singaporean families eat food from restaurants, they prefer outside food than homemade as the food at hotels are cooked just like the way it is prepared at home, with neatness, safety & care. As per an article I’d read a few years back, may be 9 years back, very less percentage of Singaporean family cooks at home & the majority residents have food from outside. The primary reason for this is the quality of food that is being served in the restaurants. Quality of food, Cleanliness, affordable price are main reason for the residents to have food outside. The restaurants are regularly visited by the food inspectors to make ensure quality food is being served and to ensure the cleanliness being followed in the hotels and restaurants.

In a country where it’s population as said above is from various countries, you can imagine how many varieties of restaurants and the varieties of food you can enjoy when you visit Singapore. Yes, Singapore is known for its varieties of foods & Restaurants. There is a lot of restaurants from various countries that are enjoyed by people from various nations.

Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian food have it’s own outstanding restaurants. Saravana Bhavan, Komala Vilas (Estd 1947), Ananda Bhavan are famous vegetarian restaurants for several decades which is getting a repeated loyal customers for it’s quality service and taste. These are very few restaurants that are serving tasty food since past few decades, there are several other continents restaurant chains that are well known among the tourists for it’s taste. And the various other non vegetarian restaurants which has its own loyal customers for it’s taste, safety & neatness.

When it comes to Singapore, even if it’s a very small island, there are lot of places to visit and you’ll find it difficult to mention one place as your favorite. And it holds the same for Singaporean food as well. There are plenty of varieties of food that are available in Singapore, it is very hard to determine one food as your favorite where every food item you see tempts you to have it.

Love your Skin

We’ve heard this proverb many times ‘Face is index of mind’. Face with many emotions, expressions can tell us what does the mind thinks.

A face can hide huge emotions and pretend to express different feeling than the mind actually thinks. Face expressions will attract people more than our words, when the face is neat and clean from any infections our expressions will play a major role in the conversations, But there is something that our face cannot hide, that’s the pimple. When a face has pimple in it, that will cease the show. Pimple will have attention than your face expressions and your words. Our body & it’s flesh is covered by a thin layer called, Skin. Imagine how we would look without skin? Horrible isn’t it?

Skin is a gift, it is our responsibility to safeguard our skin. Most of us give importance only to face, as we see only our face in mirror many times in our life. We forget to give equal importance to skin in other parts of our body. When we buy vegetables and fruits we are so careful whether it’s good or damaged or rotten. We may be able to choose a better apple than a damaged skin apple, but we’ve got only one apple that we can’t throw away, which is our own body.

After buying the fruits & vegetables we safeguard it in cool storage at home to protect it from getting spoiled. It is with same care our own skin should be treated.

In a day from the time we step out of home, until we reach home, our body has all the possibilities to get polluted by the climate, pollution, insects etc… at the end of day how we treat our skin is what decides how it’ll look the next day & so on. Fresh skin without a decorating cream is most important to keep our skin healthy for a long time.

Bathing in Lukewarm water keeps our skin healthy, while the hot water bath may create dots in our skin in long run. Using natural resources like Lime, neem etc… to maintain our body will be very beneficial. Which is why any company that comes in market can’t launch a product without these natural ingredients.

We buy good quality apples for 200/kg & try to keep it fresh until we eat it, similarly we should keep our body & skin fresh – forever.

It is our body, our skin – Take care. Garnier.

Pre-Marital Sex – Yes or No?

This is a topic one cannot skip discussing about. But we never discuss it. Though we are not in a culture to discuss it openly with family members, it is high time to give a thought about this as we see there is a number of sexual harassment and incidents happening in various parts of our nation. I feel this is an important topic as Living together is emerging trend among younger generation these days. Let’s discuss about whether it is a Yes or No to Pre-Marital sex.

Pre-marital sex is sexual activity practiced by persons who are unmarried. Historically considered taboo (something which is prohibited or restricted by social custom) in many cultures and considered a sin in numerous religions, it has become more commonly accepted in developed countries in the last few decades. In the world view, “Is it OK to have premarital sex?” That is a common question among teens and engaged couples. Perhaps you are in a relationship that is progressing in that direction, but you’re not sure what to do. In your mind, you are probably weighing the pros and cons of premarital sex.

On the positive side of the scale, there is acceptance from your peers, hope for pleasure, and the fulfillment of sexual desires. The negative side of the scale carries the weights of morals, fear of pregnancy or disease, and guilt. How do these scales balance? What is the right decision?

These are some facts which need to be answered before taking the scale further. In the moral view, Morality is a factor for many people when deciding whether or not to have premarital sex. Is it a factor for you? After all, the messages we receive from most TV shows and movies these days tells us “everyone is doing it.” In light of today’s permissive attitude, your peers may think you’re weird to even question it. But maybe there is something inside you, like a voice in your head which is making you uncertain about whether or not sex before marriage is a right or wrong action. Many people refer to this voice as their conscience.

How can you know if your “conscience” is right? People all around the world look to different holy epics corresponding to their religion as a moral, some epics describe premarital sex as fornication. That’s a word we don’t hear much these days, so what does it mean?

Fornication is sexual intercourse between people who are not married to each other. Another consideration when deciding about premarital sex is safety. As per the latest statistics, 50% of the people who currently have HIV are between the ages of 15 and 24. Using a condom only reduces the risk of contracting HIV by 85%. Condoms do not significantly reduce the risk of contracting other sexually transmitted diseases. Most people don’t consider the emotional effects of premarital sex. You see, sex is an emotional experience and it affects our lives in ways we don’t understand. After engaging in premarital sex, many people express feelings of guilt, embarrassment, distrust, resentment, lack of respect, tension, and so much more.

Imagine, for a moment, a world without premarital sex. There would be no sexually-transmitted diseases, there would be no un-wed mothers, there would be no unwanted pregnancies, there would be no abortions.

In discussing premarital sex, we often focus on the “recreation” aspect of it. Yes, sex is pleasurable. God, our Creator, designed it that way. It may be hard to think of God creating sex, but He did! In God’s plan, sex was designed for married couples to enjoy the pleasure and excitement of sexual relations. Why is this? Yes, sex is pleasurable, but in God’s view, the primary purpose of sex is not recreation, but rather re-creation. In other words, sex is for reproduction. God does not limit sex to married couples to rob pleasure from those who are unmarried. Rather, God commands

against premarital sex in order to protect unmarried people from unwanted pregnancies, from children born to parents who do not want them, and to protect children from parents who are not prepared for them. Imagine, for a moment, a world without premarital sex. There would be no sexually-transmitted diseases, there would be no un-wed mothers, there would be no unwanted pregnancies, there would be no abortions.

A frequent question in relation to premarital sex is, “If we can’t have sex, how far can we go?” A better question would be “How far should we go?” God’s Word does not give us a detailed “list” of things a couple should or shouldn’t do before they are married. Some use this as an excuse to “push the envelope” as close to premarital sex as possible. So, if sexual activity and all forms of foreplay should be restricted to married couples, what can a pre-married couple do? This is to some degree up to the couple and their own relationship. It is generally recommended that a couple not go past holding hands, hugging, and light kissing before marriage. The more a married couple has to share exclusively between themselves, the more special and unique the sexual relationship becomes.

As a cultural view, the cultural acceptability of premarital sex varies between cultures and time periods. Western cultures have traditionally been disapproving of it, on occasions forbidding it. On the contrary, premarital sex has no moral grounds, it is against God, and it is unsafe physically and emotionally. Although sex is pleasurable, it is designed by God to be enjoyed by two married people to live happily ever after if they are destined to.

Drive Safely – for you and for others.

When I read about this topic to write, I had received the below video in whatsapp from a friend. I was surprised when I watched this video, it’s very rare in our roads for this sequence of accidents occurs. Luckily there seems to be no life loss in this accident.

When I got a chance to speak with a driver of one of the private bus transport bus and asked about why do they drive do fast and whats the necessary for driving so fast, I was shocked by what he said. He said that any vehicle when it overtakes the travels bus, they wont slow down until they chase that vehicle and overtake it again. It seems that it would reduce fame of their travels unless they overtake the vehicle which over takes them.

Doesn’t this sound nonsense? Travels risking their passengers life for their fame? Fame lies in the quality of service & how safe the passengers are dropped at destinations and not in the speed.

Everyone has their own belief by keeping so many gods photos, hangouts inside cars, even outside car (Lemon), but at the end what is going to save our life is how much safety measures we are taking. How much precautions we are taking to avoid accidents for self and for others. Many of us doesn’t have a black sticker in center of headlight to avoid irritation to those who comes in opposite direction.

When we expect others to drive with low beam it is important for us to follow the same, We watch a lot of hollywood movies but we fail to see the rules they follow. If you could remember the movie Transporter, Jason Statham would insist rules for car in all three parts of the movie series.

A driver wears seat belt as soon as boards the car, it is as important for the passenger to wear the same. In Bangalore and in few other cities people wear seat belt when police is 100/200 meters away and they think they wear it to avoid a few 100 rupees fine. But fail to understand that they wear it to save their own life and the invaluable life of their loved ones.

Some people drive too fast having a reason that driving fast would save petrol/diesel!! Really? Saving petrol/diesel is so important than saving your own life and those depending on you? You should probably rethink it.

Every one is insisting on the safety measures just to see us being safe. Keeping us safe is going to save others safe as well.  Drive safely – for you & for others, reach home by yourselves & make others reach their home by themselves. (think about it how & let me know in comments!).
